Desmopressin(Minirin ® )

Desmopressin Desmopressin (Minirin ® ) is a more potent, synthetic form of Vasopressin which replaced the respective bovine- and porcine-based Lypressin and Pitresin. Desmopressin is similar to a peptide hormone found naturally in the body that is believed to play a part in the formation of memories. It is used to treat to treat specific types of diabetes insipidus, nocturnal enuresis (bed wetting). Desmopressin is also used to enhance short-term memory and enhance memory imprinting.

Dosage: The dosage range for Desmopressin is 1-2 puffs per nostril and should be used only occassionally.
Precautions: Consult you doctor before using this product if you suffer from cardiovascular problems such as hypertension or congestive heart failure or are taking carbamazepine (Tegretol), chlorpropamide (Diabinese), clofibrate (Atromid-S), demeclocycline (Declomycin), epinephrine or lithium. Avoid excessive water intake when using Desmopressin as it can cause water retention and a possible electrolyte imbalance.
